Creating Your Layout – Part 3

We need to open our layout that is in the Create Signage section of the portal.

Click on the pen icon next to the “TouchIT Training” name in the list or on the name you chose if you have used a different name for your layout.

We are going to start today by adding and image slider. To do this, click on the image slider icon.

First, in the speed, enter the number 10. Then, select that the slider will slide “left”. Now we’re going to select the images. Click on the select images button and choose the 4 images as below, then click Add. Please note, if you have been playing and adding more images and videos to your gallery you may need to scroll down to find the add button.

Now click “Add slider” and your image slider will appear on the top left of the screen. Move and resize it into position as shown below. Then lock in in place.

We are now going to add the text scroller to this layout. Click on the text scroller icon

We’re going to change the speed to 10, text font size to 50, change the color of the text using the eyedropper tool as we did before to the correct blue in the TouchIT Logo, make the width of the scroller 1000 and enter your message as below.

Click on add scroller and then move it into position as shown below.

We’re now going to create a second “slide” to our layout using the Tabbed Layout tool. What this tool enables us to do is create a playlist of different layouts that change at a specific time. For example, we can have this layout, and on our second slide after 15 seconds, we’re going to create a full screen image of a lady giving us the OK sign. Every 15 seconds, the layouts will cycle through. This gives us a flexibility in creating dynamic layouts quickly and easily.

First select the “+” icon on the Tabs at the top of the screen. Choose a regular canvas and call it slide 2. Then, click “Save Changes”

You have now created a tabbed layout.

We’re going to use our live search with 2.5 million images to add an image to this layout. Click on the live search icon, and then enter “ok” in the search box and click search. You should see the lady as below. If not, feel free to select any other image.

Once you have added the lady to the page and moved and resized her so she is full screen, we’re going to set the slide change interval to 15 seconds. You can do this by clicking on the timing icon, and then changing the default ’10’ seconds to ’15’ Click save and you are done.

Click on the main save icon on the toolbar – congratulations, your first layout is complete. Why not try and customize the layout a little more – change the Twitter Feed for a news feed for example? The process is exactly the same as you did when you added the twitter feed a couple of sessions back.
